The Robert M. Ady Professional Development Scholarship is an initiative by the Site Selectors Guild aimed at supporting economic development professionals from organizations with limited financial resources. This scholarship offers complimentary registration to the Guild’s Annual Conference, a premier event that brings together leading site selection consultants and economic developers for networking and professional development.  

Eligibility Criteria Applicants must:  

  • Be a full-time employee of a credible economic development organization;
  • Be the sole applicant from their organization in a given year;
  • Have never attended a Site Selectors Guild Annual Conference or Fall Forum; and
  • Employed by an organization that has never sent an attendee to these events. 

Selection Criteria Applications are evaluated based on:  

  • Demonstrated financial need;
  • Accomplishments in economic development;
  • Desire to engage with site selection professionals; and
  • Representation of or service to communities historically underrepresented in economic development. 

Recipient Expectations Scholarship recipients are expected to:  

  • Confirm their ability to attend the full duration of the Annual Conference; 
  • Participate in conference activities and be featured in promotional materials; and
  • Cover all additional expenses, including travel, accommodations, and any pre-conference activities. 

The scholarship honors Robert M. Ady, founder of the Site Selectors Guild and a pioneer in the field of site selection. Ady was instrumental in shaping the profession and mentoring future leaders in economic development.  For more information and to apply, visit the Robert M.
