Biography : Chad Sweeney is a Senior Principal with Ginovus, a globally recognized provider of location modeling, site selection, and economic development incentive procurement & management services. Chad is a member of the firm’s leadership team and focuses on the site selection and economic development incentives practice.

Chad works closely with the firm’s clients to provide expertise and experience in site selection and economic incentive negotiation and management. He has closed transactions resulting in over $1.1 billion of capital investment and an estimated 7,700 new jobs. Chad provides location modeling, site selection, and advice on structuring economic development incentive agreements for clients throughout North America. His depth of experience gives him the expertise to understand projects ranging from complex corporate transactions to the needs of start-up companies.

Chad’s areas of expertise include leading and coordinating site selection searches for all of Ginovus’ clients, including economic impact modeling, multi-market comparisons and tax, and regulatory reviews. He also works closely with his colleagues at Ginovus on the site selection components of nearly all of their large project engagements across North America.

Personal Note : Before joining Ginovus, Chad served on the senior leadership team of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), the State of Indiana’s lead economic development agency, where he held the roles of EVP, CFO, and General Counsel. Prior to his work with the IEDC, Chad practiced law with the Indianapolis-based law firm Ice Miller and as a Certified Public Accountant with Deloitte.

Chad holds a J.D. from the Maurer School of Law at Indiana University and a B.S. in Accounting from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He is a frequent speaker and contributor on issues impacting site selection decisions and has published a number of articles related to the same. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and watching his kids play soccer.
